Beautiful. So beautiful in every single way. I couldn't put down this book, and just zipped through it from start to end. After reading the prologue, I had to take a moment just to take it all in, and there were a lot of moments like this throughout the story. I had initially given "The Dragon's Promise" five stars, solely because I enjoyed reading it, but this book showed me what five stars really meant. And maybe that'll change as I develop my taste, but as of right now, I'm in love with Her Radiant Curse. I admittedly skimmed many of the fight scenes, just because I wanted to know happened next, so I'll have to go back and reread them. I'll also have to reread the scenes between Channi and Hokzuh ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝)!!

Elizabeth Lim's books have been perfect for easing me back into reading. I really loved reading her books in highschool, which were admittedly the last time I had read. I fell in love with the first book in this duology, Six Crimson Cranes, and had this sequel waiting on my shelf for two years now. I took it off my shelf on a whim, reading it just to pass some time, but I found myself infatuated. Before I knew it, I had gone through the entire novel. I haven't felt this feeling in a long time, of getting lost in a book. I immediately asked Star to go to Barnes and Noble with me, so that I could buy the prequel, Her Radiant Curse. I finished half of it during the drive home.

I kind of wish I had reread Six Crimson Cranes before picking this one up, because I had forgotten a majority of the context that led up to this book. My memory somewhat returned throughout the story, and it was enjoyable nonetheless. I really love the way Lim writes her characters; the way she's able to convey each character's unique, yet equally strong, personalities. A lot of reviews may disagree with me, but I'm an easy reader. I did wish that the Dragons played a bigger role in the story though, and I wasn't a huge fan of the ending. But, it's better than what I had anticipated, and more creative than a "perfect ending". Nevertheless, the way Lim puts words on paper is magical, and I'm looking forward to her future releases.
